I have served on the Bedford Select Board since 2019 and am currently its clerk. My liaison roles on the Select Board include the Planning Board, the Library Trustees, the Volunteer Coordinating Committee, Bedford Cultural Council, Community Media Committee, Disability Commission, Bedford Community Partnership, Youth and Family Services, Hanscom Area Towns Committee, and Hanscom Field Advisory Commission.
From 2016 to 2019 I was an elected Trustee of the Bedford Free Public Library, and served in 2019 as that board’s chair. I am the immediate past president of Bedford Patrons of Music Students (POMS), an all-volunteer booster organization supporting music students and faculty within the Bedford Public Schools. I spent six years as the parent coordinator of the JGMS musical, and am approaching twenty years as a high school youth leader at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
My additional volunteer experience includes seven years as a vestry warden (lay leader) at St. Paul’s, part of which occurred during a clergy transition. I was a founding board member of The Bedford Citizen, having resigned that position in order to run for Select Board, and am a former board member of the Bedford Center for the Arts. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English from Harvard, a master’s in secondary English education from Syracuse, and an MBA from Babson.
Born and raised in the Midwest, I moved to the East Coast for college and never really left. I am a literary agent, and have worked in children’s publishing for more than twenty years. I live in Bedford with my husband, our two children (a senior and a freshman at BHS), and our shepherd/terrier rescue mutt. I’m an ardent baseball fan (Red Sox/Cubs) and a huge musical theatre nerd, and I own too many books.
